(LEBANON, Ill., Jan. 18) – The McKendree University men's D3 hockey team is set for two road contests at Robert Morris University – Peoria this weekend. The teams face off on Friday at 6:30 p.m., and then Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in Peoria, Ill.
 
The Bearcats are 12-2 overall this season, with a record of 5-1 on the road. McKendree holds the No. 1 spot in the MACHA Bronze Division with 20 points. The next closest team is Washington University – St. Louis with 14 points. The Bearcats sit at No. 12 in the Pacific Region of the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
 
Leading the scoring charge for the Bearcats has been freshman forward Derek Northrop with 21 points, recording 11 goals and 10 assists in 12 games this season. Senior defenseman Ethan Gremminger leads the team in assists with 14. Gremminger has also netted six goals for a total of 20 points this season. Junior goaltender Zach Allen has seen time in all 12 games this season, posting a record of 9-2 with a goals-against average of 2.38, one shutout, and a save percentage of 0.207.
