(CANTON, Mich., Jan. 20) – The McKendree University women's hockey team was defeated by the University of Michigan by a final score of 4-0 on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Bearcats fall to 9-6-1 overall on the season with six games remaining in the regular season. McKendree was unable to solve the Michigan goaltender, firing 32 shots on goal. Freshman goaltender Sydney Akai-Platt started in goal for the Bearcats turning aside 25 of 29 shots on goal. McKendree returns home for the final two home games of the season on Jan. 26 and 27, as they host No. 2 Adrian College.
