(Fort Wayne, Ind. January, 6) – The McKendree University women's wrestling team claimed a second place finish at the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) National Duals this weekend posting a 2-1 record.
The Bearcats opened up the duals with a 43-1 victory over Eastern Oregon winning all 10 matches.
In the Semifinal round, McKendree posted a 43-4 victory over Wayland Baptist University winning nine of the 10 matches.
In the Championship dual, the Bearcats fell 24-19 to Campbellsville University. McKendree won the first five matches holding a 17-4 lead before Campbellsville opened an offensive explosion securing two pins and a tech fall to take an 18-17 lead. The Tigers would win the next two matches by decision to take the National Duals Title.
