Box Score (ROLLA, MO, Oct 12) – The McKendree University men's soccer team topped the Miners of Missouri S&T Friday night 2-0. The Bearcats are now 7-4-1 overall and 5-3-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play.
 
The Bearcats out-shot the Miners 14 to nine and would find success in their shooting opportunities in the second half of the match. The first Bearcat goal came from sophomore midfielder Eddie Davis (Arundel, England/Amersham College) in the 51^st minute of play after he drove a 35-yard shot into the Missouri S&T net, courtesy of a James Stone (Eastbourne, England/Bede's Senior School) assist. McKendree struck for the second and final time just minutes later when sophomore striker Raul Artega (Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico) scored on a 25-yard attempt. Defensively, sophomore goalkeeper Alvaro Cortazar (Asuncion, Paraguay/Santa Teresa de Jesus) collected his fifth shutout of the season.
 
The men's soccer team takes to the field once more on Sunday, October 12 at 2:30 p.m. as they travel to St. Louis, MO to take on fellow GLVC competitor Maryville University.
