(ROLLA, MO, Oct 12) – The McKendree University women's soccer team bested Missouri S&T Friday evening by a score of 1-0. The Bearcats now sit at 11-1-1 overall and 7-1-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play.
 
McKendree and Missouri S&T were dead even in shot opportunities with 14, however McKendree was more efficient with their shooting as the Bearcats totaled six shots on goal to the Hawk's four. The lone and game-winning goal was scored in the 71^st minute of play as senior midfielder Jane Skaggs (St. Charles, MO/Duchesne) headed an Emma Knoebel (Maryville, IL/Collinsville High School) pass into the net for a 1-0 lead over the Miners. Goalkeeper Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering) made five saves and recorded her 10th shutout of the season in this evening's win.
 
The women's soccer team returns to action Sunday, October 14 at 12:00 p.m. as they travel to St. Louis, MO to take on Maryville University in GLVC play.
