(LEBANON, Ill., Oct 28) – The McKendree University women's soccer team was eliminated from Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championship contention after they were defeated by the Hawks of Rockhurst University 2-0 Sunday afternoon. McKendree is now 13-4-1 overall and 9-4-1 in GLVC play.
 
The Bearcats out-shot the Hawks 12 to 10 through 90 minutes, however Rockhurst was able to capitalize on their opportunities, scoring in the 35
th minute of play as well as the 57
th minute. McKendree was not short of scoring chances themselves, however, with one shot hitting the Rockhurst goalpost in both the first and second halves respectively. Defensively, junior goalkeeper 
Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering) accumulated six saves on the game.
 
The women's soccer team is currently ranked third in the NCAA Midwest region, and will now have to wait until conference tournament play concludes to see if they will have a chance to compete in the NCAA tournament this season. The new NCAA regional rankings will be released every Wednesday
