(O'FALLON, Ill., Oct. 7) – The McKendree University women's hockey team dropped their first game of the season in a 3-1 loss to University of Colorado.
Colorado got on the board first with a goal midway through the first period to go ahead 1-0. The score would stay the same until the third period when Colorado added another goal to extend their lead. The Bearcats got their first goal by junior
Alyssa Albee (Brookfield, WI/Brookfield Central) with the help from sophomores
Dakota Peterson (Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada) and
Elia Burbidge (Tottenham, Ontario, Canada/The Hill Academy). The Buffaloes put the game out of reach with a third goal and McKendree fell by the score of 3-1.
The women's hockey team will hit the road for the rest of the semester when they travel to Hudsonville, Mich. for a two game series with Grand Valley State University on October 13-14.
