(ST. LOUIS, MO, Nov. 7) – The McKendree University men's wrestling program defeated the Spartans of Missouri Baptist 53-0 to secure their first win of the 2018-2019 season.

Marcus Povlick (Plainfield, IL/Plainfield North), Isaiah Kemper (Evansville, Ind./Central), and Ryan Vasbinder (Grand Rapids, MI/Grandville) picked up their first wins of the season after each were ranked within the top 15 nationally for their respective weight classes by the NCAA DII Wrestling Coaches Association.
 
The Bearcats are now 1-0 overall on the season and will return to action Saturday, November 10 as they travel back to St. Louis to participate in the Kaufman/Brand/Bayly Open hosted by the Saints of Maryville University.
