(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 19)--The McKendree University men's basketball team will make its home debut for the 2018-19 season on Tuesday when the Bearcats host Union University in non-conference action. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Statham Center. Tuesday's game will be carried live on the Bearcat Sports Network at
www.glvcsn.com/mckendree, beginning with the pre-game show at 6:50 p.m.
McKendree is 0-2 on the season and has not played an official contest since opening the 2018-19 season at the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Nov. 10-11 at Northern Michigan University. The Bearcats did play an exhibition game at Indiana State University last Wednesday. McKendree trailed by just a point with 13 minutes to play against the NCAA Division I Sycamores, but Indiana State pulled away late for an 80-63 win.
Carrington Bass (Floosmoor, IL/Crete-Monee) came off the bench to lead McKendree with 14 points, while
Logan Kohrmann (Bartelso, IL/Breese Central) added 13 points and
Giovanni Offard (Freeport, IL/Freeport) netted 11 points.
Nate Michael (St. Joseph, IL/St. Joseph-Ogden) finished the night with a team-leading eight rebounds for the Bearcats.
Through the first two games of the 2018-19, Michael leads the Bearcats in scoring at 14.5 PPG. Bsss is next at 13 PPG, while Kohrmann has connected for 11 PPG. Offard leads McKendree in both rebounding (5.0 RPG) and total assists (13). The Bearcats have been solid from the free throw line so far this season, hitting just over 78 percent of their attempts from the stripe.
Tuesday's game will also mark the first regular-season home game for new McKendree men's basketball coach
Chris Foster. The Bearcats' head coach spent four seasons at Truman State University, where he was 3-0 all-time in Lebanon with the Bulldogs.
McKendree will be opening a brief two-game home stand on Tuesday. The Bearcats will host Principia College in non-conference play Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. before hitting the road for their first two Great Lakes Valley Conference games of the season at the University of Missouri-St. Louis on Nov. 29 and at Maryville University on Dec. 1

Tyree Boykin has poured in a team-leading 26.8 PPG in the first four outings this season for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs returned the favor with a 74-65 triumph on Nov. 25, 2011 at the Union Thanksgiving Classic in Jackson, Tenn.
