(LEBANON, Ill., Dec. 21)—A recent signee for the McKendree University women's bowling program set a new national record for highest three-game series by a high school bowler.
Becca Hagerman, a senior at Harlem High School in Machesney Park, Ill., rolled her way to an 847 series on Tuesday. After opening with a 267, Hagerman posted consecutive games of 290 to finish off her record-breaking series. She shattered the old high school mark by 49 pins.
Hagerman was one of three early signees for the McKendree women's bowling program for the 2019-20 season. She has been a part of two state and two national championship teams while at Harlem. Hagerman is the younger sister of former Bearcat All-American
Samantha Hagerman (Loves Park, IL/Harlem), who was a four-year varsity bowler at McKendree.
The McKendree University women's bowling team is ranked No. 1 in the latest National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) poll released in early December. The Bearcats will resume their 2018-19 season Jan. 11-13 at the Mid-Winter Invitational hosted by Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark.
