(Lebanon, Ill., March 19) -- McKendree University men's volleyball is set to take on the Quincy University Hawks in a Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association road contest tomorrow at 7 pm, before hosting the Princeton University Tigers for a pair of non-conference matches on Thursday and Friday.
The Bearcats have won two matches in row, following a four-set victory against the Lindenwood University Lions at home last Thursday. They are currently 8-10 overall on the season and 4-5 in MIVA play, which puts them in fifth place in the conference standings.
Senior outside hitter Nolan Rueter leads the Bearcats with 2.55 kills per set, while senior setter Pasquale Fiduccia has recorded 612 assists, placing him third in the MIVA. Rueter and Fiduccia have also combined for a total of 205 digs on the season.
Red-shirt senior middle hitter
Brendan Schmidt (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt West) is averaging 1.01 total blocks per, which ranks him fourth in the conference in that category, and junior libero Zach Thompson leads McKendree in digs with an average of 2.12 per set.

Quincy University Hawks (12-12, 0-8)
The Hawks have yet to win a conference match, and currently sit in last place in the MIVA standings. They are currently ranked second as a team in the MIVA in digs per set, averaging 9.7, and are led individually by senior libero Collin Merk, who is second in the conference in that category.
Senior outside hitter Anthony Winter is third in the MIVA in kills, averaging 3.3 per set, while sophomore middle Blake Sprecher leads his team in blocking, averaging just under one per set. The Bearcats have won their last five meetings with the Hawks, including a 3-1 victory last month.

Princeton University Tigers (6-11, 5-4 EIVA)
The Tigers are currently fourth in the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association, and lead the conference in blocks per set, averaging 2.5 as a team. George Huhmann and Junior Oboh are both averaging over one total block per set, ranking them both in the EIVA top five.
Huhmann, a sophomore from St. Louis, is also ranked second in the conference in kills, averaging 3.35 per set to lead his team. Freshman setter Joe Kelly is averaging 8.9 assists per set, which is good enough for third in the conference. The Tigers and Bearcats played in 2016, with McKendree winning in three sets.
