NFCA DIVISION II RANKINGS -- MARCH 28, 2018

(LEBANON, Ill., March 28)—For the first time since becoming NCAA Division II members in 2013, the McKendree University softball program has earned a top-25 ranking from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
 
The Bearcats landed at No. 25 in the latest NFCA Division II poll released on Wednesday. McKendree earned a total of 32 points in the voting conducted after the week completed on March 25.
 
McKendree is currently 22-7 overall and is riding a seven-game win streak. The Bearcats are 8-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, including an 8-1 victory at home against the University of Indianapolis – which is ranked No. 11 in the NFCA Division II poll – back on March 17 at Bearcat Field.
 
Last week, McKendree went 4-0 on the road with GLVC doubleheader sweeps at Lewis University and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The Bearcats lead the conference in earned-run average at 2.57 while they sit second in the league with a .312 team batting average.
 
McKendree is scheduled to play four GLVC games at home this weekend. The Bearcats will host Quincy University for a pair of games at Bearcat Field on Friday before the University of Illinois Springfield comes to town on Saturday for a doubleheader. First pitch each day is scheduled for noon.
