Women's Lacrosse Travels to Ohio and Michigan for 2 GLIAC Contests

(Lebanon, Ill., March 29) – McKendree women's lacrosse will resume Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play this week with a pair of road games at Tiffin University and #16 nationally ranked Grand Valley State. The Bearcats opened their 2018 home schedule with a victory against the Davenport Panthers last Friday, before falling to the #3 Lindenwood Lions on Sunday, and they are currently 2-5 overall on the season.

Junior attacker Emily Nelson (Deephaven, MN/Holy Family Catholic) is the reigning GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, following a 14 point performance over the weekend. The Bearcats are led on offense by a pair of seniors in Dana DiPasquale (St. Charles, MO/Barat Academy) and Paige Salthouse (St. Louis, MO/Ursuline Academy). Dipasqule leads McKendree with 32 points and is ranked second in the GLIAC in assists with 15, while Salthouse has put in a team-high 23 goals, placing her second in the conference in that category.

Junior midfielder Hannah Sugarman (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional) leads the Bearcats in ground balls, picking up 30 on the year, and caused turnovers, with 17. Sophomore goalkeeper Collin Patton (Wildwood, MO/Eureka) has started all seven games for McKendree this season, picking up 18 ground balls and earning a .400 save percentage.


Tiffin University (5-3, 2-1 GLIAC)
The Dragons have won three games in a row, and are currently third in the GLIAC women's lacrosse standings.

Sophomore midfielder Elle Hamilton leads the conference in goals (26) and points (32), while senior defender Tiffany Anderson has picked up a team-leading 25 grounds balls and has caused 14 turnovers through eight games.

Junior goalkeeper Kat Schneeberger is ranked in the GLIAC top five in both goals against average and save percentage, having started all eight games in net for the Dragons. Tiffin and McKendree have played five times dating back to the 2014 season, with the Dragons winning four times.


Grand Valley State University Lakers (5-2, 3-0 GLIAC)
The GLIAC leading Lakers are riding a four game winning streak, and currently lead the conference in goals per game as a team, averaging 18.43.

Senior attacker Ashley Bailey is the top point getter for GVSU, with 18 goals and 10 assists, while midfielder Erika Neumen leads the Lakers defensively with 18 ground balls and 17 caused turnovers.

Senior goalie Brianna DeMilia has posted an 11.05 goals against average and .486 save percentage through seven starts in net. The Lakers and Bearcats last met in the 2017 GLIAC tournament championship, with McKendree prevailing 12-8.
