Women's Lacrosse to Host Two Ranked GLIAC Opponents

(Lebanon, Ill., April 11) – Following two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victories over the weekend, McKendree women's Lacrosse (4-8, 3-4 GLIAC) will look to continue its positive momentum swing as it prepares to take on two nationally ranked conference opponents. The Bearcats will host the #25 Tiffin University Dragons on Friday afternoon before welcoming the #13 Grand Valley State Lakers for senior day on Sunday at Leemon Field.

McKendree boasts two of the top scorers in the GLIAC in Dana DiPasquale (St. Charles, MO/Barat Academy) and Paige Salthouse (St. Louis, MO/Ursuline Academy). DiPasquale is ranked second in the conference in points, having amassed 30 goals and 24 assists on the season, while Salthouse has chipped in 39 goals to lead the Bearcats in that category.

Junior attacker Emily Nelson (Deephaven, MN/Holy Family Catholic) has recorded 43 points (22 goals and 21 assists) and has also been effective on defense, picking up 30 ground balls. Nelson has also controlled the most draws for McKendree, winning 39, while Rylee Skachenko (Oceanside, CA/Carlsbad) has scored 31 goals in her inaugural collegiate campaign.

Junior midfielder Hannah Sugarman (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional) leads the Bearcats in ground balls, having picked up 51 through 12 games, and has also caused a team-leading 27 turnovers on defense. Sophomore goalkeeper Collin Patton (Wildwood, MO/Eureka) has started every game in net for McKendree, earning a .367 save percentage.
 

#25 Tiffin University Dragons (8-4, 5-2 GLIAC)
The Dragons are currently tied with Indianapolis for second place in the GLIAC standings following a win against Davenport on Sunday. Tiffin defeated the Bearcats 17-14 back on March 29 in Ohio.

Sophomore midfielder Elle Hamilton leads the GLIAC in goals with 40, and has collected a team-leading 49 points. Senior midfielder Elle MacMillan is right behind Hamilton in goals, cashing in 39 on the season.

Senior defender Tiffany Anderson has caused 20 turnovers to lead Tiffin in that category, and is second behind junior goalkeeper Kat Schneeberger in ground balls, with 33. Schneeberger has picked up 37, and is fourth in the GLIAC in goals against, averaging 12.72 through 12 games.
 

#13 Grand Valley State University Lakers (9-3, 7-0)
The Lakers have been outstanding in conference play, as they lead the GLIAC in goals per game averaging 18.36 as a team and rank second in goals against, allowing just 9.96 through 12 games played.

Senior attacker Ashley Bailey leads GVSU in points, contributing 28 goals and 15 assists. Senior midfielder Meghan Datema has chipped in a team-high 33 goals for the Lakers and has won 55 draws in the circle.

Midfielder Erika Neumen leads the Lakers in ground balls, having picked up 29, as well as causing a team-leading 25 turnovers. She is second behind Datema in goals with 32, while senior goalie Brianna DeMilia ranks second in the GLIAC in goals against average (11.20).
