Women's Lacrosse Set for GLIAC Road Contest at Davenport

(Lebanon, Ill., April 18) – McKendree University women's lacrosse is set to travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan for a conference match-up against the Davenport University Panthers on Friday. The Bearcats split a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games at Leemon Field over the weekend, including a 21-20 upset over the nationally ranked Tiffin University Dragons.

McKendree has an overall record of 5-9 on the season and are 4-5 in conference play, currently placing them fourth in the GLIAC standings and they lead the conference in ground balls with 328 total as a team. The Bearcats and Panthers have met once previously this season, with McKendree prevailing 22-10 on its home field.

Senior attacker Dana DiPasquale (St. Charles, MO/Barat Academy) had a 12-point weekend and currently leads the GLIAC in that category with 66 on the year. Another senior attacker for the Bearcats, Paige Salthouse (St. Louis, MO/Ursuline Academy), has earned a team high 44 goals, placing her third overall in the conference.  

Junior midfield Hannah Sugarman (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional) has picked up a team best 55 ground balls and has caused 30 turnovers. Junior attacker Emily Nelson (Deephaven, MN/Holy Family Catholic) has collected 27 goals and 23 assists and has won 59 draws for the Bearcats. Sophomore goalkeeper Collin Patton (Wildwood, MO/Eureka) has started all 14 games in net for McKendree.
 

Davenport University Panthers 3-9, 1-7 GLIAC
The Panthers are in their inaugural season at the NCAA level following a 15-3 mark in the NAIA last year. They are currently in sixth place in the GLIAC standings and have struggled taking care of the ball, as they lead the conference in turnovers with 276.

Sophomore attacker Taylor Ries is ranked second in the GLIAC in points, recording a team leading 63 through 12 games. Sophomore defender Ryann Deuel has chipped in 42 goals to go with 54 draw controls, leading Davenport in both categories.

Junior goaltender Alex Yates has started all 12 games in net for the Panthers, posting a .372 save percentage with 111 total saves. Yates leads her team in ground balls, picking up 38 while senior midfielder Maeve Sweeney has caused 19 turnovers.
