(Lebanon, Ill., April 26) -- McKendree University women's lacrosse is looking to clinch the fourth and final spot in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament this weekend, as they will be on the road at Concordia St. Paul and Northern Michigan. If the Bearcats defeat the Golden Bears on Friday they will do just that, as they are currently one spot higher than Concordia in the conference standings, with just one game separating the two teams. McKendree is 6-9 overall on the year, and 5-5 in GLIAC action, having won four of their last five contests.

The Bearcats are third in the conference in goals, averaging 14.47 as team and second in ground balls, having picked up a total of 352. McKendree is led on offense by a pair of senior attackers in Dana DiPasquale (St. Charles, MO/Barat Academy) and Paige Salthouse (St. Louis, MO/Ursuline Academy). DiPasquale leads the GLIAC in points with 75 (42 goals and 33 assists) and Salthouse is ranked third in the conference in goals, leading McKendree with 50 tallies on the season. Junior midfielder Hannah Sugarman (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional) is the reigning GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week and she leads the Bearcats in both ground balls (60) and caused turnovers (35).

Concordia University St. Paul Golden Bears (7-7, 4-6 GLIAC)
The Golden Bears are in their inaugural GLIAC season and are currently fighting for a conference tournament berth with the Bearcats, sitting in fifth place.

Sophomore attacker Maddie Hentges has recorded a team-leading 40 goals through 14 games, accumulating 57 total points on the year. Sophomore Katie Lottsfeldt has earned a .429 save percentage in net for the Golden Bears, while also picking up a team high 48 ground balls.

McKendree is 2-0 all-time against Concordia, including a nail-biting 11-10 victory at home this season on April 6.

Northern Michigan University Wildcats (2-11, 1-9 GLIAC)
The Wildcats recently won their first conference game in program history and are currently tied for last place in the GLIAC standings with the Davenport University Panthers.

Freshman attacker Emily Dvorak and sophomore midfielder Graison Ringlever lead NMU in goals with 34 each on the season. Ringlever also leads her team in ground balls with 29 and draw controls with 65, while freshman goalkeeper Emily Karbaum has earned both wins in net for the Wildcats in 2018.

McKendree has won both match-ups between the two programs, including a 23-9 result at Leemon Field on April 8 of this year.
