(LA JOLLA, Calif., April 26) – The McKendree University women's water polo team is set to compete at the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Championships this weekend. The Bearcats first matchup comes against No. 1 seeded University of California – San Diego at 11 a.m. PST at Canyonview Aquatics Center.
 
McKendree is 8-14 overall on the season, and 0-4 in WWPA matchups this season. The Bearcats head into the WWPA Championships at the No. 8 seed in their first season at the NCAA Varsity level. Freshman attacker Emily Westlove earned two All-Conference honors from the WWPA this week. Westlove was name to the WWPA All-Freshman team as well as Second Team All-Conference. She has led the Bearcats in scoring this season notching 54 goals in 22 games. Senior attacker Sabrina Sherrin is close behind with 42 markers, with sophomore attacker Brianna Mullalley at 41.
