(LEBANON, Ill., Sep. 13) – The McKendree University men's soccer team will open Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Friday, September 14 at 7:30 p.m. on the road at William Jewell College.
 
The Bearcats enter the contest 2-1 on the season after most recently defeating Union University 2-1 in overtime in result of a Jett Gay (Springfield, IL/Glenwood High School) header that came late in the second overtime period. Forward James Stone (Eastbourne, England/Bede's Senior School) leads the McKendree offense with two goals, two assists and six points, while goalkeeper Alvaro Cortazar (Asuncion, Paraguay/Santa Teresa de Jesus) has recorded 12 saves so far this season.
 
William Jewell currently sits at 1-1 on the season after defeating Southwest Baptist 3-2 on September 11.
