(Liberty, Mo., Sep 14) – The McKendree University men's soccer team improved to 3-1-0 overall and 1-0-0 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play after defeating William Jewell College Friday evening 1-0.
 
In 90 minutes of play, the Bearcats outshot the Cardinals six to two and also earned more corner kick opportunities, amassing five corners to William Jewell's two. The fifth and final corner opportunity ended up being just what McKendree needed, as Eddie Davis (Arundel, England/Amersham College) sent a through ball which Matthew Moran (Perryville, MO/Perryville High School) was able to head into the net with just over six minutes left in regulation play.
 
The men's soccer team will be back in action September 16 at 2:30 p.m. as they return home to Leemon Field to face the Flyers of Lewis University in another GLVC matchup.
