(LEBANON, Ill., Sep. 20) – The McKendree University men's soccer team aims to remain undefeated in Great Lakes Valley Conference play at home on Friday, September 21 at 7:30 p.m. as they face Bellarmine University, and on Sunday, September 23 at 2:30 p.m. where they will take on the University of Indianapolis in Indianapolis.
McKendree enters the weekend 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference after most recently defeating the Flyers of Lewis University 3-0 on Sunday, September 16.
James Stone (Eastbourne, England/Bede's Senior School) leads the McKendree offense with six total points, while goalkeeper
Alvaro Cortazar (Asuncion, Paraguay/Santa Teresa de Jesus) has made 13 saves this season and has accrued two shutouts for his efforts, both occurring in GLVC matchups.
The Knights of Bellarmine University currently sit at 2-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the GLVC after most recently tying Maryville University 2-2 in double overtime on September 16. Bellarmine is currently ranked fourth in the GLVC standings
The Greyhounds of the University of Indianapolis are currently ranked ninth nationally and sit atop the GLVC standings with a 6-0 overall record and 2-0 GLVC record. Most recently, UIndy defeated William Jewell 2-1 on September 16.
