(LEBANON, Ill., Sep 21) – The McKendree University men's soccer team increased its win streak to five games, boasting a 5-1-0 overall and 3-0-0 Great Lakes Valley Conference record after defeating Bellarmine University Friday evening 1-0.
 
In 90 minutes of play, the Bearcats outshot the Knights six to five and also earned more corner kick opportunities, amassing three corners to Bellarmine's one. It would be the corner kick opportunities that ended up sending McKendree into the win column once more, as Eddie Davis (Arundel, England/Amersham College) sent a through ball that Gonzalo Correa (Santiago, Chile/Athletic Study Center) was able to beautifully finesse into the net in the 22^nd minute of play. Goalkeeper Alvaro Cortazar (Asuncion, Paraguay/Santa Teresa de Jesus) collected another shutout in Friday night's performance, making two saves in his efforts.
 
The men's soccer team will be back in action Sunday, September 23 at 2:30 p.m. (ET) as they travel to the University of Indianapolis to face the Greyhounds in another GLVC matchup.
