(INDIANAPOLIS, IN, Sep 23) – The McKendree University men's soccer team recorded their first tie of the season on the road against the University of Indianapolis after an intense double overtime match. Men's soccer now sits at 5-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in GLVC play.
 
In 110 minutes of play, the Bearcats defense fought valiantly as they faced a total of 11 shots on behalf of the Greyhounds. Goalkeeper Alvaro Cortazar (Asuncion, Paraguay/Santa Teresa de Jesus) was able to negate all shots on goal, amassing four saves during his performance and solidifying another shutout on the season. The Bearcat offense was held to only 3 total shots during the double overtime affair, with plenty of scoring chances negated by UIndy's defense at the last second.
 
Men's soccer will be back in action Friday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m. as they travel to Springfield, MO to face Drury University in another GLVC matchup.
