(LEBANON, Ill., Sep. 27) – The McKendree University men's soccer team will face Drury on the road Friday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m., and return home to Leemon Field to take on Southern Indiana Sunday, September 30 at 2:30 p.m. as they defend their top rank in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).
McKendree enters the weekend 5-1-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the GLVC after most recently tying the Greyhounds of the University of Indianapolis 0-0 on Sunday, September 23.
James Stone (Eastbourne, England/Bede's Senior School) and
Gonzalo Correa (Santiago, Chile/Athletic Study Center) lead the McKendree offense with six total points each, while goalkeeper
Alvaro Cortazar (Asuncion, Paraguay/Santa Teresa de Jesus) has made 19 saves this season and has accrued four shutouts in his efforts.
The Panthers of Drury University currently sit at 0-7-1 overall and 0-4-0 in the GLVC after most recently falling to Missouri S&T 3-1 on September 23.
The Screaming Eagles of the University of Southern Indiana are currently ranked second in the GLVC standings with a 5-1-1 overall record and 3-0-1 GLVC record. Most recently, Southern Indiana defeated Bellarmine 3-2 on September 23.
