(ST. PETERS, Mo., Oct. 26) – The McKendree University swimming and diving program competed at the Lindenwood Invite on Saturday featuring Lindenwood University, University of Indianapolis, Drury University, Missouri S&T, and Delta State University. The men took second place and the women placed fifth.
The Bearcats will take a weekend off before heading to the Drury Invitational on Nov. 8-9.
The Bearcat men won 7/11 swimming events on the day. The 200 medley relay team of freshmen
Davante Carey (Nassau, Bahamas/Queens College),
John Heaphy (Eagle River, AK/Eagle River High School), sophomore
Gregg Lichinsky (West Des Moines, IA/West Des Moines Valley High School), and junior
Alexander Skinner (Namibia, Africa/Windhoek Afrikaans Private School) set a new school record with a time of 1:30.27.
Skinner placed first in the 50, 100 freestyles, turning in times of 20.20 ad 44.63.
Senior
Matija Pucarevic (Belgrade, Serbia/Sixth Belgrade Grammar School) took first in the 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle events with times of 48.86 and 1:41.23.
Freshman
Fabio Dalu (Cagliari, Italy/Liceo L.B. Alberti Cagliari) won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 9:24.11.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Pucarevic, Lichinsky, freshman
Caleb Law (Anchorage, AK/Robert Service High School), and Skinner took first with a time of 1:21.33.
The women's 200 medley relay team of senior
Sydney Rey (Columbia, IL/Columbia High School), freshman
Grace Credit (La Grange Highlands, IL/Lyons Township High School), junior
Meredith Geyer (Germantown, TN/Germantown High School), and sophomore
Haley Rey (Columbia, IL/Columbia High School) took fifth place with a time of 1:48.02.
Geyer placed sixth in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall in 1:56.08.
In the 100 backstroke, Geyer and S. Rey placed fourth and fifth with times of 59.02 and 59.22.

Abigail Rumpp (Knoxville, TN/L&N STEM Academy), S. Rey, and Geyer took fifth with a time of 1:39.07.
In one meter diving, junior
Caitlyn Canadi (South Lyon, MI/South Lyon High School) scored 162.60 points, sophomore
Ethan Larson (Anchorage, AK/Paideia High School) scored 267.35, and freshman
Xavier Flores (Fresno, CA/Clovis West High School) scored 146.05.
In three meter diving, Larson scored 238.40 points and Flores scored 164.45.
