(BOLIVAR, Mo., Oct. 6) – The McKendree women's soccer defeated Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) foe Southwest Baptist 1-0 this past Sunday afternoon after scoring within the first 10 minutes of regulation. McKendree is now on a four-game winning streak and is 8-1-1 ovearall and 6-0-1 in GLVC play so far this season.
 
The McKendree Bearcats scored the first and only goal in just the 9^th minute of play, after junior midfielder Alynnah O'Leary (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville High School) sailed a shot past the SBU goalkeeper. With the aid of some stout defense from the McKendree back line, the Bearcats negated each of Southwest Baptist's nine total shots while senior goalkeeper Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering High School) recorded her fourth-consecutive shutout.
 
McKendree will be back in action this upcoming Friday, October 11 as they travel to Kansas City to take on the Hawks of Rockhurst University in yet another GLVC matchup.
