(LEBANON, Ill., Nov. 1) – The McKendree women's soccer team bested the Miners of Missouri S&T 2-0 this Friday evening, getting themselves back into the win column, getting their 10th conference win of the season. The Bearcats are now 12-3-2 overall and 10-2-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play.

Sydnee Carroll (Millstadt, IL/Belleville West High School),
Anna Hanger (Belleville, IL/Althoff Catholic High School),
Kate Bixby (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt North High School),
Kailey Anderson (O'Fallon, MO/Fort Zumwalt West High School),
Kylie Grubbs (Carbondale, IL/Carbondale High School),
Kaitlyn Grubbs (Carbondale, IL/Carbondale High School), and junior
Elle Basler (Anna, IL/Anna-Jonesboro High School ) were honored as they conclude their collegiate soccer careers after this season.
After a first half that saw plenty of opportunities but no goals, the Bearcats stuck first in the 55
th minute after senior
Madyson Mossman (St. Louis, MO/Ursuline Academy) fired one past the Miner goalkeeper, courtesy of a
Sydnee Carroll (Millstadt, IL/Belleville West High School) assist. Carroll would find the net next, scoring on an unassisted chance in the 58
th minute of play. McKendree would preserve the shutout as well, with senior goalkeeper
Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering High School) making two saves in her 10
th shutout of the 2019 season.
McKendree will be back in action this Sunday November 3 as they wrap up regular season play on Leemon Field against Maryville University.
