(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 28) – The McKendree University women's lacrosse team will open their season Friday, March 1 at 6 p.m. on Leemon Field in a non-conference matchup against Rockhurst University.
 
McKendree reached the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) championship game just one season ago. Prior to reaching the championship, the Bearcats defeated Grand Valley State University 27-19 in the GLIAC semi-finals, who were ranked 13^th nationally at the time.
 
Rockhurst is currently 1-4 on the season, most recently falling to the hands of Concordia University 12-11 last Friday February 22.
