(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Mar. 27) - The McKendree University women's lacrosse team handily defeated the Saints of Maryville Univeristy 25-3 Wednesday afternoon, with either different players recording a goal and five different Bearcats recording more five points or more. The Bearcats are now 5-3 overall and 4-1 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.
The McKendree offense was highlighted by six-goal performances from sophomore
Rylee Skachenko (Oceanside, CA/Carlsbad) and junior
Kayla Smith (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon Township) while freshman attacker
Kathryn Albrecht (Louisville, KY/Eastern High School) led the Bearcats in points with 10, closely followed by senior attacker
Emily Nelson (Deephaven, MN/Holy Family Catholic) with nine.
The women's lacrosse team will be back in action this weekend as they travel up to Michigan to take on Grand Valley State University Friday, March 29 at 5 p.m. EST, followed by Davenport University on Sunday, March 31 at 12 p.m. EST.
