Softball Drops Two Contests Against Lewis on Senior Day

(LEBANON, Ill., Apr. 20) - The McKendree University softball team fell to Lewis University earlier this Saturday afternoon, dropping game one 8-4 and game two 7-3. The Bearcats are now 18-30 overall and 3-19 in Great Lakes Valley Confrence (GLVC) play.

Game one saw the Bearcats get on the score sheet late in the sixth and seventh innings, with senior Samantha Cameron (Dix, Ill./Centralia, Ill.) and Megan Radae (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) sending one run in each in the sixth and Miranda Gajewski (Kronenwetter, WI/D.C. Everest) and Abbie Bailey (Tinley Park, IL/Andrew) each sending in a run as well in the seventh. Unfortunately, the late offensive surge proved not to be enough and McKendree fell 8-4.

In game two, the Bearcats found early success scoring their three runs through the first four innings with RBIs from Jenny Homann (Freeburg, IL/Freeburg High School), Sara Radae (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) and Megan Radae (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville), however Lewis was able the keep the upperhand and took the second game 7-3.

The Bearcats will be back in action next Saturday, April 27 when they travel to take on the Cardinals of William Jewell in another GLVC doubleheader.
