(ROMEOVILLE, Ill., Apr. 24) - The McKendree University women's lacrosse team outlasted the Flyers of Lewis University by a score of 20-4 Wednesday night where four Bearcats scored at least a hat trick, led by a nine point effort by senior attacker 
Emily Nelson (Deephaven, MN/Holy Family Catholic).
Along with Nelson, junior attacker 
Kayla Smith (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon Township) and senior midfielder 
Hannah Sugarman (Holden, MA/Wachusett Regional) each scored four goals, while freshman attacker 
Kathryn Albrecht (Louisville, KY/Eastern High School) scored three goals while tallying one assist as well. Three other Bearcats on the scoresheet as 
Sarah Hardin (Pacific, MO/Eureka) and 
Rylee Skachenko (Oceanside, CA/Carlsbad) each scored two goals, while defender 
Jess Morey (Loveland, OH/Loveland) put one past the Lewis goalkeeper.
As a defensive unit, McKendree totaled four caused turnovers, while goalkeepers 
Clara Andrews (St. Louis, MO/Nerinx Hall High School) and Colin Patton combined for seven saves while allowing just four goals in 60 minutes of play.
The Bearcats will be back in action this Sunday, April 28 as they wrap up their regular season on Leemon Field against the visiting Saints of Maryville University.
