Box Score (INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., Sep. 11) – The McKendree University men's soccer team ran the table against the Mighty Oaks of Oakland City University the past Sunday, September 8, emerging victorious 3-0. The Bearcats are now 1-1 on the season as they head into their next contest.
 
McKendree set the pace in the first half with a flurry of offensive chances, beginning with junior forward James Stone (Eastbourne, England/Bede's Senior School) scoring on a deflected goal courtesy of an Eddie Davis (Arundel, England/Amersham College) assist. The Bearcats would score once more in the first half, as junior forward Rulo Arteaga (Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico) lifted a left-footed shot to the top corner off a Lukas Vaiciunas (Vilnius, Lithuania/Sofijos Kovalevskajos gymnasium) cross.
 
With a 2-0 lead heading into the second half, McKendree would score once more in the second as Arteaga sent a header into the Mighty Oak net for his second goal of the day, courtesy of an Ariel Cardozo (Ciudad del Este, Paraguay/Universidad San Carlos) cross.
 
The men's soccer team will be back in action this Sunday, September 15 at 2:30 p.m. as they open up Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play on the road against the University of Southern Indiana.
