(EVANSVILLE, Ind., Sep. 15) – The McKendree University men's soccer team finished tied even with the University of Southern Indiana 1-1 this past Sunday afternoon. McKendree is now 1-1-1 on the season and 0-0-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play.
The Screaming Eagles were the first on the board after finding the net in the 18
th minute, but were answered by the Bearcats in the 32
nd minute by
Gonzalo Correa (Santiago, Chile/Athletic Study Center) off an assist from forward
James Stone (Eastbourne, England/Bede's Senior School). Both teams headed in to halftime tied, and responded with a flurry of chances in the second half with both teams combining for 28 shots through 90 minutes. In overtime, McKendree out-shot Southern Indiana four to two, however neither time were able to find the back of the net.
Men's soccer will be back in action this upcoming Friday, September 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET as they travel to Louisville, Kentucky to face the Knights of Bellarmine University.
