(LEBANON, Ill., Sep. 22) – The McKendree University women's soccer team finished their weekend with a 1-1 draw against the Greyhounds of the University of Indianapolis in a match that required two overtime periods this Sunday afternoon. The Bearcats are now 4-1-1 overall and 2-0-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) play.
 
The Greyhounds were the first on the board after a fifth-minute goal, however freshman forward Linette Lueschow (Brussels, Belgium/European School of Brussels III) responded just before the end of the half with a 42^nd minute goal which came off a long-distance assist from senior defender Alynnah O'Leary (Collinsville, IL/Collinsville High School). The second half contained high-octane play from both ends of the pitch with the Bearcats outshooting UIndy four to two, though neither team was able to find another goal. Both overtime periods were paced by McKendree, who took a total of four shots while the Bearcat defense stifled the Greyhound offense, allowing no shots on goal. Senior Goalkeeper Zoe Brochu (Ajax, Ontario, Canada/Pickering High School) made four saves in the draw.
 
Women's soccer will be back in action this Friday, September 27 as they play host to GLVC foe University of Missouri – St. Louis with kickoff beginning at 5 p.m.
