David Siebum Joins McKendree Volleyball Staff as Graduate Assistant

(LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 3) – McKendree University men's and women's head volleyball coach Nickie Sanlin announced the hiring of David Siebum as a Graduate Assistant coach for both volleyball programs on Tuesday.

Siebum comes from within the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) as a graduate of Ball State University where he played as an outside hitter on the men's volleyball team. The St. Louis, Mo., native completed his undergrad in Sports Administration with a minor in Business Administration.

"I am extremely excited that David will be joining the Bearcat family," said Sanlin. "I've had the pleasure of knowing him since he was a club player in the St. Louis area and to have such a talented young man join our coaching staff will help continue to elevate our programs to the next level."

With his time here at McKendree, Siebum will work closely with the pin attackers on the court and then assist Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach Christian Staple off the court with the recruiting process and day-to-day program operations.

"Volleyball has been at the center of my life for the past decade and the opportunity to become a Graduate Assistant for a great volleyball program with one of the top coaches across the country in Nickie Sanlin was an opportunity that I couldn't pass up," said Siebum. "Having known Nickie for years I feel as though we have a similar demeanor and intensity when approaching the game and being able to work beside her will be a great experience."

The women's volleyball team will open its 2019 season on Thursday Sept. 5 with a tournament match against Wayne State University at 6 p.m. in Big Rapids, Mich., as a part of the Ferris State University Invitational.
