(LEBANON, Ill. – Dec. 7) – The McKendree University men's basketball team continues on their road trip to Des Moines, IA, on Wednesday, Dec. 9. The Bearcats will tip off against the Bulldogs of Drake University at 7:00 PM.
McKendree tops the East Division of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) with a 2-0 overall and 2-0 conference record. In their most recent competition, McKendree took down Missouri S&T Thursday night, 89-86 in overtime.
Chris Foster's team is averaging 88.0 points per game, with a 7.5-points margin over their opponents.
Bryson Bultman (Nashville, IL/Nashville) leads the Bearcats with an average 19 points per game, while recording 18 in the contest against the Miners.
Brendon Gooch (Belleville, IL/Althoff ) recorded his first double-double with the Bearcats, scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds Thursday night. Gooch is the second leading scorer for the team, with 17.5 average points per game. Both
Aleksandar Davitkov (Belgrade, Serbia/Partizan) and
Carrington Bass (Floosmoor, IL/Crete-Monee) added 14 points apiece in the overtime win, and average 16.0 points and 14 points average per game, respectively.
Drake University secured their 20
th-straight non-conference home win Sunday afternoon over St. Ambrose University. The Bulldogs hit 14 three-pointers in the 97-53 contest, putting them at 4-0 on the season for the first time since the 1979-80 season. The Bulldogs had five players score in double figures and reached a season-high in points scored and three-pointers. The team is averaging 88.3 points per game, with a 22.8-points margin over their opponents.
