(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 14) – The McKendree University women's lacrosse team will open their 2020 campaign this Saturday, February 15 at 12 p.m. in Marquette, Michigan against Northern Michigan University.
 
The Bearcats, who were picked to finish fourth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) preseason poll, enter the 2020 season after finishing with an 11-7 record in 2019. Offensively, McKendree returns sophomore and leading goal-scorer Kathryn Albrecht (Louisville, KY/Eastern High School), as well as junior Rylee Skachenko (Oceanside, CA/Carlsbad) and seniors Sarah Hardin (Pacific, MO/Eureka) and Kayla Smith (O'Fallon, IL/O'Fallon Township), who were all within the top-six in team scoring in 2019.
 
Saturday's contest will be the first for Northern Michigan as well.
 
After returning from Marquette this weekend, the Bearcats will begin a three-game home stand which will run from February 23 to March 4, and will include contests against Lee University (Feb. 23), Grand Valley State University (March 1), and the University of Findlay (March 4). McKendree will not begin GLVC play until March 28 when they travel to St. Louis, Missouri to take on the Saints of Maryville University.
