(LEBANON., Feb. 23) – The McKendree University women's lacrosse team topped the Flames of Lee University 18-11 in the Bearcats' first home tilt of the season. McKendree improves to 2-0 on the year.
The Bearcats held a lead over Lee for nearly the entirety of the contest, first scoring a minute and a half into the game. McKendree was led offensively by a fire-hot
Sarah Hardin (Pacific, MO/Eureka), who found the back of the net six different times while also being closely followed by midfielders
Rylee Skachenko (Oceanside, CA/Carlsbad) and
Oriana Johnson (Monticello, MN/Monticello High School), who tallied four goals and three goals respectively. The Bearcats were also well taken care of on the defensive side of the ball as sophomore goalkeeper
Clara Andrews (St. Louis, MO/Nerinx Hall High School) stopped a total of 13 shots while also saving five free-position shots.
Women's lacrosse will be back in action this upcoming Sunday, March 1 as they play host to Grand Valley State University at noon on Leemon Field.
