Men’s Basketball to Conclude Regular Season with Contests at No. 15 Indianapolis, Bellarmine

(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 26) – The McKendree University men's basketball team is set to close out the 2019-20 regular season with road games at No. 15 University of Indianapiolis and Bellarmine University. The game against the Greyhounds is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET in Indianapolis, Ind., while the game against the Knights is set for Saturday, Feb. 29 at 3 p.m. ET., in Louisville, Ky.

The Bearcats are 14-12 overall on the season and 9-9 in Great Lakes Valley Conference competition. In its last contest, McKendree defeated Illinois Springfield 76-65 in a come from behind victory for its final home game of the season on senior day.

Senior guard Logan Kohrmann (Bartelso, IL/Breese Central) leads the team in scoring with 517 points on the season. The senior is averaging 19.9 points per game on the season and sits atop of the league standings with his 21.4 ppg average in conference only competition. Junior guard Oliver Stephen (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) is the only other Bearcat averaging double-digit points per game on the season with 295 points and an 11.8 ppg stat line.

Freshman forward's Bryson Bultman (Nashville, IL/Nashville) and Jakobie Robinson (Indianapolis, IN/Warren Central) lead McKendree in rebounding, Bultman with 152 on the season and Robinson close behind with 150. Kohrmann is also a strong rebounder for the Bearcats with 143 total rebounds on the season. Robinson sits atop the leaderboard for McKendree in blocks and steals with 19 blocks and 41 steals on the season.

The Bearcats are just a quarter of a point behind eighth place Drury in the league rating system and are looking to push past the Panthers to claim a post season spot in the conference tournament that takes place in Edwardsville, Ill., March 5-8.

ABOUT No. 15 INDIANAPOLIS:
Indianapolis is the highest ranked GLVC school in the NCAA NABC Coaches poll with its 15th place ranking. The Greyhounds are 21-5 overall on the season and 13-5 in the GLVC. UIndy is working on a six game win streak and holds a 10-2 record at home.

In their last matchup this season, the Bearcats defeated the Greyhounds at home 78-74. McKendree collected the comeback victory with a 57.69 shooting percentage from field goal range, 46.67 percent three point percentage, and an 81.82 free throw percentage in the second half to overcome the Greyhounds offensive efforts.

ABOUT BELLARMINE:
Bellarmine is 19-6 overall on the season and 12-6 in GLVC competition. The Knights are currently on a three-game win streak and sit 10-3 at home this season.

In their last meetup, the Bearcats fell 76-60 to the Knights at home. McKendree remained immensely competitive in the first half shooting 65 percent from field goal range but that percentage dropped drastically in the second half allowing Bellarmine the opportunity to grow its lead over the Bearcats.
