(LEBANON, Ill., Feb. 6) – The McKendree University men's volleyball team is scheduled to begin Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) competition on Friday, Feb. 7 with a match at No. 6 Lewis University. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. in Romeoville, Ill.
The Bearcats are 6-4 overall on the season after sweeping both Urbana University and Tusculum University in their latest matches this past weekend and are currently on a three game win streak. McKendree also remains undefeated in home contests this season as well.
Senior opposite
Zach Schnittker (Arlington Heights, IL/Buffalo Grove), junior outside hitter
Patrick Ross (Anthem, AZ/Boulder Creek), and junior middle blocker
Wyatt Dimke (Ham Lake, MN/Blaine) lead the offensive efforts for the Bearcats. Schnittker leads the team with 90 kills, Ross follows suit with 79, and Dimke rounds out the efforts with 62 kills on the season. Dimke leads the team in hitting percentage with his 62 kills on 117 attempts and just 11 errors for 43.6 percent.
Defensively sophomore libero
Francisco Comas (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley High School), sophomore setter
Ryan Serrano (Anthem, AZ/Boulder Creek), and Ross lead the back line. Comas carries the team with 70 digs, Serrano is close behind with 65 digs, and Ross is next with 50 digs. At the net for the Bearcats defense is Dimke, Schnittker, and senior middle blocker
Lucas Galifos (Mokena,IL/Lincoln Way East). Dimke leads the pack with 40 total blocks while Schnitter and Galifos each have 26 total blocks on the season.
McKendree will continue MIVA play with road contests at Ball State University on Thursday, Feb. 13 for a 7:00 p.m. ET match followed by a match against No. 15 Ohio State University on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
