(LEBANON, Ill. – Feb.7) – The No.1 McKendree University women's wrestling hosted their first home event of the 2019-20 season and competed hard for a 31-12 win over No.4 Colorado Mesa University.
The Bearcats now have a 4-0 record. The Bearcats took their momentum from the exhibition match into the dual, with a pin one minute into the dual by
Pauline Granados (Rialto, CA/Wilmer Amino Carter High School) and a forfeit win to
Carly Valleroy (St. Louis, MO/Mehlville High School). Colorado Mesa came back to fight with back-to-back technical fall wins in the 116-lb and 123-lb class. It was the Bearcats that controlled the rest of the dual.
Before the dual started, four exhibition matches were held. Below are the results for those matches:

136-lb: Brianne Penunuri (El Monte, CA/El Monte High School) was defeated by fall at 4:27 (1-4) to Jolynn Harris (unattached).
130-lb: Murray won by fall at 1:27 over Cindy Zepeda.
