(NORTH CANTON, Ohio, Mar. 10) – The McKendree University women's lacrosse team was defeated by the Walsh University Cavaliers 11-8 this Tuesday afternoon. The Bearcats are now 3-3 on the 2020 season.
After a first half that saw few offensive opportunities for McKendree, the Bearcats were able to turn the momentum around, outshooting the Cavaliers 19 to 12 in the final 30 minutes of play, scoring six second-half goals to Walsh's five. This second half surge proved to be not enough though as Walsh left with a 11-8 victory. Despite the loss, sophomore Kat Albrecht had an impressive offensive game, leading the McKendree scorers with four points (two goals, two assists). Fellow sophomore
Clara Andrews (St. Louis, MO/Nerinx Hall High School) made 14 saves through 60 minutes, which is a season-high for the St. Louis native.
The Bearcats will be back hit the turf once more this Wednesday, March 11 when they travel to Tiffin University to take on the Dragons at 6 p.m.
