LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University men's soccer returns to Leemon Field for its final regular season home stand with two matches. The Bearcats will play host to Lindenwood on Friday during a PINK OUT match and Maryville on Sunday. McKendree currently sits tied for fourth in the Great Lakes Valley Conference with Illinois Springfield at 22 points each.
McKendree split its latest weekend with a win over Missouri S&T on October 15, 2-1, but dropped the match on October 17, 1-2, against Drury. With the loss against the Panthers, the Bearcats lost their six-match win streak, which dated back to September 26 against Illinois Springfield.
The Bearcats were on a tear prior to the loss to Drury and overall this fall have been led by senior forward
James Stone and senior forward
Gonzalo Correa. Stone owns eight goals on the fall with one assist while Correa has fired five goals with one assist. Stone ranks second in the league with 17 points (1.31 per game) and is tied for the lead in total goals with eight and three game-winners. Correa ranks tied-for-tenth in the GLVC with five goals. Eddie Davis leads the Bearcats in assists with five and rankds tied-for-fourth in the GLVC. Freshman midfielder
Philipp Schmidt ranks tied-for-eighth with four dish-outs in the fall. The goal has been guarded by senior keeper
Alvaro Cortazar in full this season with 1281 minutes accumulated. Cortazar owns a goals allowed average of 1.33, 57 saves, and a 7-3-3 record. The senior also ranks second in saves (57) in the league and fourth in saves per game at 4.38.

The Lions enter Friday's match at Leemon Field with a .500 overall season at 5-5-1 while sitting with a 5-4-1 GLVC record. Lidenwood went win-less in its latest weekend slate at 0-1-1, dropping a match to then-no. 14 Maryville and playing Drury to a draw. The offense has been led by forward Feho Sabotic, who has eight points this fall but is trailed narrowly by forwards Joshua Scholl (seven points) and Santiago Rodriguez (six points). Sabotic has fired three goals this year to be tied for the Lions' lead with Scholl, he has also dished out two assists. Scholl, with his three goals, has sent out a pass to bump his total to seven points this fall. Rodriguez has two goals and two assists to total six points in the fall. The Lion's goal-keeper duties have been primarily handled by Zachary Martin with 975 minutes amassed so far. Martin has collected 32 saves with a goals allowed average of 0.93.

The nationally-ranked Maryville Saints (No. 10, USC poll) enter their weekend slate with a six-match winning streak and will travel to Evansville on Friday to take on Southern Indiana prior to coming to Leemon Field. Maryville's offensive attack has been led by midfielder Mirz Hasecic, who owns 16 points this fall with seven goals and two assists, while also collecting three game-winners. Fellow midfielder Riardo Andrade is second for the Saints with eight points on one goal while he has facilitated more, dishing out six assists. The Saints' goal has been a stone wall this fall with only 10 goals allowed and a goals allowed average of 0.75. Two keepers have made a mark with Nick Hemann recording 723 minutes, 18 saves, and a goals allwoed average of 0.62, while counterpart Liam Walraven has amassed 480 minutes with 10 saves and a goals allowed average of 0.94.
