Bearcats extend win streak over Miners to eight-straight matches with five-set victory

LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University women's volleyball collected a Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) victory over Missouri S&T to open the Halloween weekend slate. The Bearcats dropped the initial set of the match but managed to take the contest with a thrilling fifth-set win.

Sophomore outside hitters Brianna Binder and Colleen Preusser were the other two Bearcats to record double-digit kills in the five-set win with Binder blasting 12 and Preusser collecting 11. Misner added 11 digs and two blocks in her efforts as well. Binder amassed 14.5 points while laying out for 16 digs  and sending two service aces. Preusser was narrowly behind Binder with 14 total points while collecting 12 digs and two service aces.

Junior setter Macy Tongate recorded 39 assists in the win while also tying Binder for the team-lead in digs with 16. She also added three blocks and one service ace.

Defense was an across the board effort with five collecting 10-plus digs and six Bearcats adding at least one block. Junior middle blockers Claire Diercks and Sarah Porter both led the Bearcats in at-the-net defense with four blocks each. Porter added nine kills while Diercks collected four.
