LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University's men's volleyball team has released their schedule for the upcoming 2022 season.
The Bearcats will open the season on the road in Phoenix, Ariz. on Friday, Jan. 7 and Saturday, Jan. 8 against Grand Canyon University. The first home match of the season will be on Friday, Jan. 21 against Central State.
After a one match homestand the Bearcats will travel to Tenn. to King on Friday, Jan. 28 and Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, Jan. 29. The Bearcats will return home for a three match homestand with the first match being against Maryville on Friday, Feb. 4.
After the game against the Saints, McKendree will open its Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association conference schedule with a match against Ohio State University on Thursday, Feb. 10. On Saturday, Feb. 12 the Bearcats will host MIVA opponent Ball State University to conclude the homestand before a one match road trip.
Saturday, Feb. 19 the Bearcats travel to MIVA foe Lindenwood University before returning home. The Bearcats will then host the Ramblers from Loyola University Chicago on Thursday, Feb. 24. After the match with the Ramblers the Bearcats hit the road one again with a game against Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, Feb. 26.
On Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5 the Bearcats host the Pepperdine Waves before competing at the Lindenwood Invitational. The following weekend, Friday, March 11, the Bearcats play Limestone at the Lindenwood Invitational. On Saturday, March 12 the Bearcats conclude the Lindenwood Invitational against Lincoln Memorial.
On Wednesday, March 16 the Bearcats travel to Lewis University to play the Flyers. On Saturday, March 19 the Bearcats will host the Flyers. The following week the Bearcats play the Ramblers in Chicago on Thursday, March 24 before hosting Purdue Fort Wayne on Saturday, March 26.
The Bearcats will hit the road for two matches with the first being Thursday, March 31 at Ball State. On Saturday, April 2 the Bearcats conclude the road trip with a match against the Buckeyes of Ohio State.
The Bearcats will conclude their home portion of the schedule on Thursday, April 7 against Lindenwood and will close out the regular season on Saturday, April 9 against Quincy. The postseason will kick off with the MIVA tournament with the quarterfinals being played on Saturday, April 16. The semifinals will be played on Wednesday, April 20 and the MIVA finals on Saturday, April 23 with all games being hosted by the higher seed.
