LEBANON, Ill. – The McKendree Athletics Department is inviting local schools to attend the Bearcats home men's and women's basketball doubleheader on Sunday, Jan. 2 against the University of Southern Indiana at the Melvin Price Convocation Center. Game times are 1 p.m. for the women and 3 p.m. for the men.
McKendree is offering free admission for children 15 and under to attend both games, while tickets for adults are $5 for general admission and $7 for reserved chair back seats. Tickets are good for both games.
"What a tremendous way for us to give back to the community than to invite local school-aged kids to come and watch our men's and women's basketball team play against a very good Southern Indiana team," said McKendree Director of Athletics
Anthony Francis. "I look forward to seeing all of the local school aged kids pack the Convocation Center and cheer on the Bearcats to victory against the Screaming Eagles."
Francis said there will be numerous activities for the kids to participate in during the games.
During the women's game, the men's basketball team will hold an autograph event with any of the school-aged kids in attendance during the first and second quarters of the game.
Following the completion of the women's game, there will be 20 minute skills camp for children in grades K-8 that will be held in McKendree's IM gym, which is located in the same building as the main gym.
After the skills camp, the kids and families are encouraged to stay and watch the men's game.
Handicap seating and parking are available upon request.
