(LEBANON, Ill. – Feb.12) – The McKendree University women's volleyball team played in their first home game of the season against the University of Indianapolis, Friday evening. The Bearcats move to 0-3 (0-3 in GLVC) after taking an early lead over UIndy, but falling 3-1.

McKendree put up an offensive showcase in the first set, hitting .615 with 17 kills. They would take the first set 25-18. A late comeback in the second set for the Greyhounds to reverse the momentum of the match. The Greyhounds narrowly took the second set 25-23. The Bearcats stayed close in the third set, hitting with a .234 percentage and putting up 16 kills over UIndy's 14 kills. McKendree and UIndy exchanged point runs in the fourths set. The four of the final five points in the match belonged to the Greyhounds to secure the 25-17 set win.

McKendree finished the game with a .180 hitting percentage and 55 kills on the night. Brianna Binder (Littleton, CO/Dakota Ridge) and Colleen Preusser (St. Charles, MO/Lutheran) both recorded 14 kills, followed by McKenna Ross (Anthem, AZ/Boulder Creek) with 13. Sarah Porter (Glfford, IL/Armstrong Township) put up a big block, leading both teams with six, while Amanda Tippett (Forestill, MO/St. Dominic) led the defense with 29 digs.

Nickie Sanlin's team will be back in the Harry M. Statham Sports Center for their next matchup, scheduled with University of Southern Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 13. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
