(LEBANON, Ill. – Feb. 13) – The McKendree University women's volleyball closed out their doubleheader weekend with Southern Indiana, Saturday morning. The Bearcats move to 0-4 (0-4 in GLVC) after staying close with Southern Indiana, but falling in three sets.
McKendree put up a great effort late in the first set to come back and earn the set point, but Southern Indiana was able to take the match 27-25. The Screaming Eagles started off the second set with a 4-0 run. The Bearcats nearly came back behind
Alex Tinnin's (Festus, MO/Festus) serve, but the Screaming Eagles would put it away 25-22. The Bearcats started off the third set strong, holding a comfortable lead. But it was Southern Indiana who would take the third set, 25-19, and the match 3-0.
McKendree produced a .083 hitting percentage with 31 kills on the afternoon.
Colleen Preusser (St. Charles, MO/Lutheran) led the offense with eight kills, and she led the defense with 10 digs as well.
Alexandria Muschong (Woodstock, IL/Woodstock) had five blocks and six kills. Both
Gracie Marr (Castle Rock, CO/Castle View) and
Alex Tinnin (Festus, MO/Festus) would record one service ace apiece. Marr would add 13 assists, while Tinnin added eight digs.
Nickie Sanlin and her team will be back on the court for two games on Saturday, Feb. 20. McKendree will face Quincy and William Jewell in the Harry M. Statham Sports Center.
