(Lebanon, IL- Feb 16)-The McKendree University men's basketball team defeated the University of Illinois-Springfield on Tuesday night by a final score of 66-42.

Defense was the name of the game in the first half for the Bearcats. They held the Prairie Stars to 17 points in the first half while shooting 25 percent from the field and forcing eight turnovers. On offense, the Bearcats were dialed in from 3-point range, shooting 46.7 percent in the half, while holding UIS to 18.2 percent.
The Bearcat defense continued to hold the line in the second half, holding the Prairie Stars to three-of-13 from three in the second half. The Bearcat defense held the UIS offense scoreless for the final four and a half minutes of play and opened a 24-point lead in the process.
