(St. Louis, MO Feb.18)- The McKendree University men's basketball team improves its record to 9-6 with its victory over Great Lakes Valley Conference opponent Maryville University 78-59.
 
How it Happened
The Bearcats and the Saints played a tight first half, ending with the Bearcats up by one. They shot11-of-28 attempts from the field, including five-for-14 from 3-point range.
In the second half, the Bearcats put their foot on the gas broke the game open with an 11-4 run in the first 10 minutes. The Bearcats broke off a 10-0 run starting at the 8:19 mark with a dunk frin Luke Hensler (Okawville, IL/Okawville) and finished with a Jacob Donaldson (Effingham, IL/Effingham) triple. They would shoot four-of-six from the field during the run.
The Bearcats posted 44 points in the second half shooting 17-of-28 shooting, and connected on 50 percent of their deep balls, making seven-of-14.
