Box Score (St. Charles, MO. Feb 20)- The McKendree University men's basketball team was defeated by the Lindenwood Lions in double overtime by a score of 116-109.
How it Happened:
The Bearcats and the Lions played each other close throughout the entirety of regulation. The Bearcats shot over 50 percent in both halves of regulation, shooting 58.6 percent and 50 percent receptively. The Bearcats were led by sophomore guard
Bryson Bultman (Nashville, IL/Nashville) who put up 31 points. Senior forward
Brendon Gooch (Belleville, IL/Althoff ) missed a potential game winning lay up that lead to the first extra period.
In the first overtime, both squads continued to play each other incredibly close. In the five extra minutes, the Bearcats shot a perfect seven-for-seven from the field. With 13 seconds left, senior forward
Jacob Donaldson (Effingham, IL/Effingham) slammed it home off an assist from senior guard
Alijah Thomas (Des Moines, IA/Hoover) to give the Bearcats a three-point lead. However, Lindenwood stormed down the court and hit a three to force another extra period.
In the second overtime, Lindenwood pulled ahead, outscoring McKendree 16 to nine. Bultman forced a turnover with 30 seconds left and hit a layup to cut the lead to two. However, Lindenwood hit their free throws down the stretch to hang on.

-Bultman finished the game with a career high 45 points on 18-of-27 shooting from the field. He also added nine rebounds.
- Four other Bearcats scored in double figures. Gooch, Thomas, Donaldson and fellow senior
Oliver Stephen (Edwardsville, IL/Edwardsville) finished with 17, 13, 11 and 10 points respectively.
-The Bearcats defense totaled six blocks and five steals on the afternoon. The Bearcat bench also contributed 22 points.
